



First Thursday State College will continue its celebration of the arts on August 5th with exhibits, performances, and activities at locations throughout downtown State College and the Penn State campus. Participants will be identified by posters on the sidewalk outside the event venue. Unless otherwise noted, admission to all First Thursday events is free and open to the public.
Funding for First Thursday has been generously provided by the Knight Foundation Fund of the Centre County Community Foundation.
Parking is free every evening at the street meters after 6:00 pm, every Thursday after 6:00 pm at the parking lots located on Fraser Street and Beaver Avenue and Allen Street (across from Municipal Building), and the McAllister parking deck. Parking is NOT FREE in the Fraser, Beaver and Pugh Street Garages.
The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) provides FREE BLUE and WHITE LOOP service all evening until 2:30 am every Thursday during Full Service, with service operating every 6–11 minutes. The LOOPs provide circulator service through the University Park Campus and Downtown State College, providing free transportation to all First Thursday activities. State College, July 30, 2010 — The Cast of Beatlemania takes the stage on the HUB at 7 pm on August 5th as part of the First Thursday Concert Series. Parking is free that evening at all municipal street meters, the parking lots on Fraser Street and on Beaver Avenue and Allen Street (across from the Municipal Building), and the McAllister parking deck.

Appalachian Outdoors
7:00 pm: Wild Mushrooms of Central Pennsylvania — The Central Pennsylvania Mushrooming Club presents an overview, complete with photographs, of the edible and poisonous mushrooms that commonly appear in this region from spring into winter. Refreshments are included — 123 South Allen Street.
Christian Science Reading Room and Bookstore:
5:30–7:30 pm: Spiritual Solutions to Problems. Explore the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures to find spiritual solutions to life's challenges. Read about others who have had healings of allergies, cancer, migraines, lack of housing or money, etc. Learn how you can experience the same freedom in your life — 218 South Allen Street.
Jezebel’s Boutique
5–8 pm: Ladies Night. Enjoy an evening of games and prizes. As always free appetizers and beverages, and 15% off store wide — 366 East College Avenue.
Penn State University Libraries
3 pm: Gallery Talk, featuring 97-year old alumnae Grace Holderman, Penn State's own Amazing Grace, who will share memories of "Back in the Day: Student Traditions at Penn State"—The Special Collections Library, 104 Paterno Library.

8 am–10 pm: "Research/Penn State Magazine: Celebrating Thirty Years"—main exhibit hall of Pattee Library.
8 am–10 pm: "Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians: A Musical Legacy"—Diversity Studies Room, 109 Pattee Library.
8 am–5 pm: "Back in the Day: Student Traditions at Penn State," an exhibit from Penn State University Archives—The Special Collections Library, 104 Paterno Library.
